Nibi Walk for the Willow River April 30-May 1, 2021
Nibi (Water) Walks are based in Ojibwe Ceremonial Water Teachings. “The reason we walk is to honor the rivers and all water and to speak to the water spirits so that there will be healthy rivers, lakes and oceans for our descendents in the generations to come.” – Sharon Day
In celebration of Earth Day 2021, Ojibwe Elder Sharon Day invites you to walk with her on a Nibi Walk for the Willow River. On April 30 and May 1, Sharon (and other walkers) will carry water from the Willow River from its headwaters near Clear Lake, WI to where the Willow meets the St. Croix, near Hudson.
Walkers may participate for as much of the walk as they choose.

This year’s Nibi Walk is being co-sponsored by NWW, the Friends of the Willow River and Kinnickinnic State Parks and the Clear Lake Earth Day Committee.
