Herons & History Guided Kayak Tours

These tours provide great views of local wildlife and the opportunity to hear lumber-era stories from your scenic VIP seat! You will see eagles, herons, egrets, cormorants, islands, turtles, and a lumber-era cave. No experience is necessary. Includes: 90-minute guided river tour, lesson, safety overview, all gear, transportation to and from the water, snack, and water. Price per adult and children 12 and over: $55. Art's House Gallery Featured Artists - "Color Play" with Sue Cranston & Tyler Boles

Presented by Art's House Gallery at Art's House River Falls, WI

Spring is in full bloom at Art’s House Gallery with the bold mixed media imagery of Sue Cranston and the vibrant color palette of Tyler Boles glass. Journey through memories of Sue’s school days with black boards, gold sticker achievement stars and “all the girls.” Then lose yourself in the beautiful lightplay within the shapes, patterns and forms of Tyler’s bowls, plates, and pineapple textured stemless wine cups. This playful show runs April 30th through June 6th 2026. Our “Meet the Artists” reception will be held on Thursday, May 7th from 6:00–8:00 PM. Stop in and enjoy live music by Mike Cooper, along with light refreshments, good company, and great art! See you then!

Unforgotten Washington County Stories from the Korean War

Presented by Washington County Parks at Washington County Historic Courthouse Stillwater, MN

The Korean War (1950–1953) is often called the “Forgotten War,” overshadowed by World War II that ended just five years earlier. But in Washington County, it is anything but forgotten. Eleven local men were killed in action during the war, and their stories continue to live on in the memories of families, friends, and the community they left behind. Their service, sacrifice, and experiences form a powerful chapter in our shared history. Visit the Washington County Historic Courthouse to explore an exhibit that brings these stories to life.

Color of Structure

In Color of Structure, the world looks different. Beth Dorsey weaves deconstructed images into new artworks. Sarah Lilja’s photographs bring unique perspectives on otherwise forgotten places. Madeleine Kaudy explores the ideas of time and memories through installation and collage. Michael Slagle deconstructs topographical maps, reassembling them into an image of another object. Together, they ask us to reimagine the world around us, through ideas of time, experience, and deconstruction. You don’t need to be an artist to enjoy your time in the studio. This stress-free atmosphere provides an opportunity to practice your skills while connecting with others. We will explore both outdoor and indoor spaces and learn from each other. While working on-site, we will offer encouragement, constructive critique, and knowledge sharing to ensure you don't feel lost or uncertain about what to do. Steamboats, Towboats, and River History

Please stop in and explore the history of our waters. We have nearly 1300 photos playing on 5 screens of Steamboats, Towboats, Logging, Ferries, Bridges, and general river history. Artifacts from the St. Croix river bottom. Real equipment from the towboats industry. Models from early 1900s vessels. A river fire in Hastings, MN. What is a wing dam? The history of the Prescott Spinner Company from 1920 to early 1940s is on display. Pilot licenses, stories, articles and more. And next summer 2026 we will continue our successful River History Speaker series, all 5 this summer were smash hits, the only thing our attendees asked for was more. So next summer we hope to offer 8 speakers to our offerings for Friday nights. And who knows what will come in the door tomorrow as people continue to bring us more items, stories, and more river related materials.
