"Summertime Joy" Exhibition
Presented by Hudson Art Gallery at Hudson Art Gallery Hudson, WI
Featuring selections from Virginia Randolph Bueide’s beguiling “Passage” and “Picnic” series, and the joyful florals of Carmen Duran, this lively exhibit embraces the color and warmth of summertime. Viewers are invited to slow down and reconnect with the natural world through childlike wonder and happy memories of summers gone by. All proceeds from sales, net of expenses, are donated for the benefit of general programming at The Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, WI. This event is free and open to the public. REFUGEE VOICES: An Evening with Author Kao Kalia Yang
Presented by Trinity Lutheran Church at Trinity Lutheran Church Stillwater, MN
Kao Kalia Yang—best-selling author, teacher and poet—will speak at Trinity at 6:30pm. She will address her journey as a refugee, her latest book which explores a young Hmong-American’s search for a true home, and the importance of welcoming refugees. Yang is the author of the acclaimed The Late Homecomer: A Hmong Family Memoir, The Song Poet, as well as a wide array of adult, young adult, and children’s books. Her works have won seven Minnesota Books Awards, among other honors. She is a McKnight Arts Fellow and a frequent lecturer. The event is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:00 with seating on a first come, first served basis. Yang’s talk will be followed by a Q&A session and a book signing with books available through Valley Booksellers. The Trinity Missions team thanks the Stillwater Public Library and Stillwater Public Library Foundation for helping to sponsor this program.

This show is open to all active CAB members and will be a visible feast of eclectic art of all media types from painting and pottery to glass, photography, and art to wear. If you are an existing CAB Member and are interested in showing your art, sign up here. The sign-up deadline is Friday, June 5th at 11:45 pm. CAB’s mission to foster the arts in and around our beautiful River Falls community - from Art on the Kinni to Music in the Park - relies on the varied financial and volunteer support of our members (you can become a member here). Programming will emphasize environmental awareness, cultural communication, climate sustainability and collaborative inspiration.
